About me

  • I’m a neurophysiologist by training, have research interest in the synaptic dysfunction seen in
neurogenerative diseases. In my PhD I’ve worked on a project deciphering the role of whole
body magnetic field stimulation in animal model of Alzheimer’s disease in Department of
Physiology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Next, I moved to
Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience, Bordeaux, France for my first postdoctoral
research where I’ve been in charge of a project to understand the morpho-functional
relationship of genetic risk factors in Alzheimer’s disease. Across the line I have been trained
in doing animal behavior, stereotaxic surgeries, immunostaining, microscopy, single cell
electroporation, organotypic cell culture, cellular electrophysiology. Now at KI my role is to
develop a tool to understand the synaptic alteration seen in the patient samples form
diseases like progressive supranuclear palsy, Alzheimer in context with the newly available
PET tracers in the same samples for its binding kinetics. My long-term goal is to understand
the synaptic circuits of the behavioural deficits seen in neurological diseases viz. Alzheimer,
Parkinson etc. It’s always a pleasure to work deciphering new problems in this vast field of
science. Apart from doing bench work I’m also involved in ad-hoc reviewing of manuscripts
at my own capability, it gives me excitement peer reviewing the other people in the globe
working in different fields of neuroscience.
