About me

  • Apostolos is a post-doc in coaguation research, together with his clinical position as a Clinical Biochemist where he is technically responsible for the Special Coaguation assays of Clinical Chemistry.

He joined Jovan Antovic' group as a post-doc in 2020 after defending his PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine, in dept. of Medicine of Karolinska Institutet. He has been performing research in the role of extracellular vesicles together with characterization of clot development .

Previous works involve hemophilia patients as well as procoagulant patients with Covid-19, stroke as well as neuro-related diseases, both with Swedish as well as international collaborations.

Apostolos is actively teaching in doctoral Hemostasis course and supervising students of different levels.

Don't hesitate to contact for potential projects and collaborations.

Research

  • How do extracellular vesicles together with complement affect the coagulation and the development of neurodegenerative diseases? This is one of the research examples by combining both clinical cohorts together with development of in-vitro assays.

Assays for assessment of extracellular vesicles assays involve confocal microscopy, cell culture and purification techniques.
