About me

  • Anuschka Silva-Spínola is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS), Division of Clinical Geriatrics, Karolinska Institutet. She holds a BSc in Biology (Cellular) from the Central University of Venezuela, an MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology (Neurobiology), and a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Coimbra. Her research combines epidemiology, biomarkers, and data science to investigate mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, with a particular focus on endocrine risk factors, sex differences, and precision medicine.

Research

  • Her research interests include Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, endocrine and reproductive determinants of cognitive aging, sex differences, biomarkers, dementia epidemiology, multimodal data integration, biostatistics, machine learning, digital tools, and precision medicine. She is particularly interested in translating multimodal health data into clinically relevant tools that support early detection, risk prediction, and personalized brain health.
