Anna Kistner

I am a specialist in Radiology and in Nuclear Medicine. I am working at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics, Karolinska University Hospital, Solna. I am also a process manager in Diagnostics (Radiology) at Regional cancer centre (RCC), Stockholm, Gotland and affiliated to TTC, Theranostics trail center, Karolinska University Hospital.

Main supervisor to three PhD-students Dennis Truong, MD, Sune Sun, MD and Roseanna Lagercrantz, MD and co-supervisor to one PhD-student. 
Former main supervisor to a student that now holds her PhD.

My current research is focusing on molecular PET-Based characterization of metastatic breast cancer and neuroendocrine tumors with focus on novel treatment strategies. I also focus on the adrenals and trauma associated radiology in patients treated at Karolinska University Hospital. 

Earlier research focused mainly on infants, children and adults born small for gestational age (SGA) or preterm. We have found associations between early birth and elevated systolic blood pressure but also metabolic differences relating to glucose intolerance in these two groups of low birth weight infants and children.

My teaching activity is focused on Resident doctors in Imaging and Physiology. I am course leader for a Specialist training course (SK-kurs) in PET-CT oncology. This is a 5-day course that will be given for the third time during 2027.

I am also course leader for a course in basal scientific radiology with the purpose to give a scientific insight for clinicians
