Anna Alina Itkonen

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Anna Beronius' group at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, KI, in the field of regulatory toxicology. 

My current research develops new approaches to the assessment and identification of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), with a particular focus on adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) and AOP networks (AOPNs) relevant for regulatory assessment.

I hold a PhD in Toxicology. I have expertise in AOP development. My doctoral research applied metabolomics to investigate the metabolic effects of SSRI use during pregnancy, shaping my interest in mechanistic and reproductive toxicology.
