About me
- I am a result-oriented and enthusiastic researcher trained in medical science with strong communication skills developed from extensive teaching experience and working in international collaborations.
As Research Infrastructure Specialist at the Histology Core Facility I support other researchers in protocol development, processing complex tissues and preparation for spatial analysis.
Education
19.11.2015 - 11.03.2022 - PhD studies, Karolinska Institute
01.10.2013 - 14.07-2015 - MSc studies in Neuroscience, Jagiellonian University
"Impact of new psychoactive drugs on neurotransmission in the chosen structures of the rat's brain" defended with highest honors.
01.10.2010 - 30.09.2013 - BSc studies in Neuroscience, Jagiellonian University
Academic honours, awards and prizes
April and June 2018 KI Board of Research as well as Board of Doctoral Education have supported me financially during my international research visit at Utrecht Medical Center, Netherlands. During my 2-months stay I have been studying the role of macrophages in Rheumatoid Arthritis-autoantibody induced pain in a transgenic mouse model.
June 2018 I have received financial support from Karolinska Institutet Board of Research for presenting my research at the World Congress of Pain in Boston, September 12-16, 2018.
Research
- During my PhD I have focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of pain in autoimmune and musculoskeletal diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. In my research work I closely collaborate with both clinical and preclinical scientists as we share the mission to study pain from a translational aspect and aim to pinpoint novel targets for the development of new pain therapeutics.
Teaching
- I have experience in teaching seminars within physiology and pharmacology (immune-modifying drugs, local anesthetics, neuropharmacology) and neuroscience (sensory functions, CNS in health and disease).
