Research

  • The current focus of my applied work is on molecular data and its use in clinical and epidemiological applications. This includes working with gene expression microarrays as well as SELDI-TOF mass spectrometry, mostly in the context of cancer. My theoretical work is generally motivated by the high-dimensional nature of these molecular data sets and attempts to address the problem of multiple testing through variants of the false discovery rate.

I also feel strongly about making theoretical ideas available as software tools. Consequently, I maintain several packages for the statistical program R available at the Bioconductor repository.
