About me

  • After undergraduate studies in molecular biology and mathematics at Stockholm University I obtained a PhD in Experimental Medicine from Karolinska Institutet in 2008. After postdoctoral training in USA I returned to Karolinska to start my own laboratory.

Research

  • My research interest is to develop new methods and mouse models to improve the understanding of immune cells in autoimmune disease and cancer. We have developed an optogenetic CRISPR method for more precise spatiotemporal control of gene activity in vivo, as well as genetically engineered mouse models to improve the understanding of human disease.

Teaching

  • I arrange and teach at the postgraduate course 2186 "How to generate genetically modified mice for immunological research" as a part of the Aii (Allergy, immunology and inflammation) doctoral program. The course curriculum includes construct design for the generation of transgenic and gene targeted mice, including traditional methods and newer CRISPR based methods, as well as genotyping and breeding schemes.
