About me

  • I am a research specialist working 50% with Prof. Cynthia Bulik at the Centre for Eating Disorders Innovation and 50% with Dr. Anders Mälarstig coordinating the SCALLOP consortium (Systematic and Combined AnaLysis of Olink Proteins).

My academic journey has seen a transition from preclinical research on the intestinal microbiota during my doctoral studies to my current work with large-scale human microbiome data.

    Education:
    - PhD in Medical Science (2018), Dept. of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden
    - MSc in Molecular Medicine (2012), Örebro University, Sweden

Research

  • Broadly, my research interest lies in understanding the intricate role of intestinal microbiota in health and disease. My current research is primarily centered around exploring how the intestinal microbiota and its metabolites contribute to the development and sustenance of various eating disorders. In addition to my research pursuit and supervision of graduate students, I actively contribute to multiple research projects at CEDI, where I coordinate the -omics aspects.
