Joint doctoral programme with Nanyang Technological University
Karolinska Institute and Nanyang Technological University have established a joint doctoral programme.
Discontinued
The KI/NTU joint doctoral programme is being discontinued and is no longer accepting new doctoral students. Information below is for current programme PhD students.
The programme will lead to doctoral degrees both from KI and Nanyang Technological University. The first admitting university, either KI or NTU (NTU) will be identified as the student´ s home university, but students will register at both universities according to each university's admission process. The students´ research projects are performed as collaborative projects between KI and NTU with supervisors at both universities.
Course work
In addition to the research work (leading to a thesis) which forms the major component of the Joint PhD Programme, students are also required to pass a certain prescribed number of courses from the existing graduate modules offered for Ph. D. study. The course work undertaken should meet the requirements of both universities.
Approved modules taken at the partner university may be accredited as partial fulfilment of their Ph.D. degree subject to separate and individual review.
