About me

  • Annika Hanberg, European Registered Toxicologist and Professor of toxicology at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. She is Programme director for the Global Master’s programme in Toxicology since 2006 and organizes short courses in health risk assessment, also for professionals. Annika Hanberg has been active in giving health risk assessment support for national agencies, EU Agencies and the WHO since the 1980ies. Focus of her risk assessment activities is in the areas of Endocrine Disruptors (ED), POPs and contaminated areas. Her research was previously in experimental toxicology, but has changed to development of risk assessment methodology, such as systematic review, mixtures, ED and dose-response assessment. As she has long experience in both research and method development, education and training, as well as support to governmental agencies she is also engaged in the new Partnership for Risk assessment of chemicals within Horizon Europe, PARC.
