Call for funding for educational support 2023-2024

The aim of the SFO Stem cells and Regenerative medicine is to support research, infrastructure, and education within the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine.


Areas of support

The SFO will by this call provide limited funding to seminar series and educational activities at the Karolinska Institutet (KI) with or without collaboration with the health care system based on scope, quality, and the potential to strengthen and develop the field.

2023-2024 calls

The SFO Stem cells and Regenerative medicine announces up to four educational grants to support regular seminar series or well-defined educational activities within the area of stem cells, regenerative medicine and cellular therapies.

The applicant should have a PhD, and MD, or both and be affiliated 100% to SLL and KI. Priority will be given to high quality educational projects with the potential to benefit a large number of researchers (including PhD students) active within the field.

Eligible projects will be supported with a maximum of 200 TSEK for 2023. Grants can be used to cover meeting costs, travel costs (coach class) and administrative costs. Indirect costs must not exceed the INDI level at the receiving department.  
The call will be open 14th October 2022 – 15th November 2022.

Proposals should encompass a description of the program (max 2 pages), a preliminary schedule, and a description of the persons in charge (including 2-pages CV for the main applicant, and degree and affiliations for the co-applicants). The proposals will undergo internal evaluation. Final decisions will be taken by the SFO Steering committee.
