About me

  • Dr. Condello is a cancer biologist with extensive experience in molecular pathology of thyroid cancer.

He obtained his PhD in Clinical Physiopathology from the University of Pisa, Italy, under the supervision of Dr. Fulvio Basolo. During this period, he received training in the molecular pathology of endocrine tumors.

In 2018, he began a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh, USA, in the laboratory of Dr. Yuri E. Nikiforov. Over the next four years, his research focused on unraveling the mechanisms underlying human thyroid cancer, with a particular emphasis on identifying novel molecular markers involved in cancer invasion.

In 2022, he relocated to Stockholm, where he joined the Department of Oncology-Pathology at Karolinska Institutet, as a postdoctoral researcher under the mentorship of Dr. C. Christofer Juhlin.

In May 2023, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the same Department, where he continues to focus on the molecular mechanisms behind thyroid carcinogenesis.
