Ulrika Almquist

I am the Head of Administration at the Department of Oncology and Pathology. The administrative group includes the functions of finance, HR, course administration for undergraduate and doctoral education, as well as business-related IT. Our primary task is to support the department's researchers in facilitating the administrative tasks in these areas, to guide in the administrative assignments the researchers have themselves and to contribute clarity in this. In addition, we are responsible for all coordination of the administrative processes that occur at the department, such as ongoing financial reporting, budget, reports to grantors, management of travel for researchers, course administration for our parts of the medical program, for the department's doctoral educations, recruitments, salary setting process, ensuring a good IT environment, archive function, etc.

I have previous experience from a similar role at the Department of Economics at Stockholm University, but most recently from Region Stockholm's Health and Medical Care Administration. There I led a project office with the task of investigating and projecting areas within the specialized care, including major procurements or agreements with region-owned care providers. 

Prior to that, I have spent almost ten years at Karolinska University Hospital in roles as Head of Business Development and Head of Controller for the Oncology/Thoracic Division, later Theme Cancer, and also have a past as Head of Controller at Danderyd Hospital. Previously, I have also had roles as CFO etc. in private businesses.
