Research

  • Susanne Strömdahl is a researcher within the Global Health, HIV and SRHR
    Group at the Department of Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institutet.
    Her research focus is on HIV epidemiology and effective HIV/STI interventions
    among key populations for HIV. In addition, Susanne focus on sampling
    methods for populations without a sampling frame, particularly Respondent
    Driven Sampling and Web-based methods. Susanne has also worked on the
    evidence based systematic review performed to inform development of the
    European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) guidance on HIV and
    STI prevention among Men who have Sex with Men that was launched

    Susanne holds a PhD from the Karolinska Institutet, Department of Public
    Health Sciences. The thesis title is HIV Preventive Interventions, Sampling
    Methods and Sexual Risk Behaviour among Men who have Sex with Men and can be

    Susanne have a Medical Doctor Degree from Linköping University and holds
    Master of Public Health Degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public
    Health, where she is affiliated at the Center for Public health and Human
    Rights, Department of Epidemiology (JHSPH). She has research experience from
    Tanzania, Malawi, Nigeria and South Africa. Susanne has previously worked at
    the World Bank’s Global HIV/AIDS Program.
