Epiphyseodesis and limb Lengthening procedures are the existing surgical methods for promoting or the delaying growth plate fusion. However, these techniques are fraught with complications. The aim of our study is to develop a non-invasive way of treating growth plate disorders.
Shockwave therapy is clinically in use to treat various musculoskeletal disorders. In this study the effects of shockwave exposure on growth plate cartilage and thereby on longitudinal bone growth will be addressed.
