Sophie Johnsson
About me
I am passionate about the intersection of mental, social, and physical health, with a particular interest in how these domains influence the experiences and outcomes of individuals living with physical illness such as cancer and chronic pain.
My main research focus is psycho-oncology, where I am interested in how psychological processes and psychosocial support influence the experiences and outcomes of individuals affected by cancer. I am especially interested in how coping, resilience, distress, and psychosocial support influence quality of life, treatment experiences, and long-term adjustment across the illness trajectory.
I aim to contribute to the development of integrated, patient-centred approaches that strengthen the role of psychosocial care within existing healthcare systems, ensuring that psychosocial health needs are addressed alongside physical treatment.
