About me
I am a mental health nurse specialist, a researcher, working as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Nursing at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS)-Tanzania. Currently, I am taking my PhD studies at MUHAS-KI focusing on Feasibilty of Integrating Mental health services into maternal health care services in Primary health care settings.
Over 15years of my employment to a Psychiatric unit of Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), I have been caring for outpatients and inpatients with different mental health conditions including those related to perinatal period. In the public view i have been consulted to provide therapy to depressed patients and among them are women whose diagnosis went missed out during perinatal period. I have been working with different project groups in addressing different mental health challenges within the country, to mention the few; Public hospital (MNH), Private hospitalas under the umbrella of the Association of Private Hospitals of Tanzania (APHTA), Mental health Tanzania (MHT), World Vision, Compassion Tz, Tanzania-Zambia Pipeline L.T.D (TAZAMA), National Iinsurance Company (NIC), Assemble Insurance and other government entities such as Tanzania Revenue Authorities.
On research part i have teamed up with different projects including, Child and adolescent mental health services, Clinical pharmacy services and Antimicrobial stewardship project.
My enrollment to this site will enable the PhD process to be succesful because i will be in the position to access ther resources from KI based on my studies about maternal health.

Teaching
I have been teaching at MUHAS in the school of Nursing since 2022. I teach and facilitate mental health Nursing and Psychiatry for both undergraduate and post graduate students.
I also supervise the research works for undergraduate students and co-supervise post graduate research work.
