Omid Sadr Azodi graduated from the medical programme at Karolinska Institutet in 2007 and became a licensed physician in 2009. He defended his PhD-thesis in clinical epidemiology in 2008 and has since then pursued research as a postdoctoral researcher alongside his clinical work as a surgeon. He became Associate Professor of Clinical Epidemiology in 2013.
The research addresses the etiology and clinical management of diseases in the gastrointestinal tract, including acute pancreatitis and upper gastrointestinal cancer. He is field responsible for the research in bile duct cancer within the unit. His research is conducted using both clinical databases and population-based registries.
