About me

After completing my dental education (2011), I obtained a Master (2014) and a PhD (2018) in Periodontology at the Faculty of Odontology, Rio de Janeiro State University (Brazil). Thereafter, I underwent a post-doctoral training at the Department of Dental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet (2018-2021) and since then continued as a research specialist at the department.

Research

My research is mainly focused on understanding the immune mechanisms underlying periodontal disease and its interplay with other chronic diseases. Another line of investigation relates to the identification of salivary biomarkers for monitoring of chronic inflammatory diseases.
