Research

  • My primary research area focuses on speech and language function in acquired brain disorders, including dementia and stroke. Current projects investigate potential language markers of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Recent work has examined the progression of apraxia of speech following stroke, as well as patient‑reported outcome measures (PROMs) in dysphagia (eating and swallowing difficulties).

Another area of interest is medical education, with current themes exploring potential relationships between perceptions of clinical learning environments and quality of life.
