Paulina Jonéus

About me

I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Statistics from Uppsala University, Sweden. In 2023, I became a Ph.D. in Statistics. The title of my thesis was Design and Analysis with Observational Data: Protocols and Modeling with the aim of causal inference.

Throughout my doctoral education, my main focus was on researching methodologies in causal inference and time series modeling. My thesis focused mainly on using observational, high-dimensional healthcare register data. I addressed an empirical problem related to the efficacy of two recently approved hormonal treatments for patients who have advanced prostate cancer. I compared these treatments with each other and with the Standard of Care.

Starting in October 2023, I began working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Division of Clinical Epidemiology, Department of Medicine Solna, Karolinska Institutet. Here I am part of a project focusing on the study of socioeconomic factors and antidiabetic medication use patterns in patients with type 2 diabetes.
