Paulina Flis

Paulina works as a specialist physician in Clinical Pharmacology at Karolinska University Hospital. The daily work include working with drug information, therapeutic drug monitoring, clinical trials ( Klinisk Farmakologisk Prövningsenhet (KFP)) and also part time work at the Intestinal Failure Unit. (Mottagning Tarmsvikt Solna). 

Since januari 2024 PhD student with main supervisor Annika Bergquist,   the thesis focuses on different aspects of drug therapy for patients with liver disease.

Since 2021 also a member of the therapy group for Gastrointestinal Diseases for the Stockholm Region's Pharmaceutical Committee and one the workers union representative in Clinical Pharmacology, Karolinska University hospital.

Paulinas research focuses on medications for liver disease, both on pharmacodynamics (the drugs effects on the body) and pharmacokinetics (the body's effects on the drug). The studies investigates commonly used medications and cancer risk in primary sclerosing cholangitis, as well as the metabolism of drugs in liver cirrhosis. The research includes both pharmacoepidemiological studies and a prospective clinical trial and the research is conducted at Karolinska University Hospital. Participate since 2020 in teaching the Clinical Pharmacology course in the M.D. at Karolinska Institute.
