About me
I am a pharmacist with an MPharm from the University of Patras, Greece, and an MMedSc in Translational Physiology and Pharmacology from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. As a PhD student in the Systems Virology Lab (Team Innate immune system in infection, inflammation and cancer, Magdalini Lourda), my research focuses on the role of granulocyte subpopulations in psoriasis and how the immune–metabolic axis contributes to chronic skin inflammation and immune dysregulation.
Using in vitro and ex vivo models, I explore the mechanisms underlying immune cell metabolism, innate immunity, and tissue inflammation, aiming to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets that can improve precision medicine approaches in immune-mediated disorders.
I also work on the interplay between the innate and adaptive immune systems in infectious diseases.
My work contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting innovative, sustainable, and targeted healthcare solutions.
