Research

  • My research focuses on exercise and skeletal muscle physiology in adults, adolescents, and children, with interests in physical performance, muscle function, and the molecular mechanisms underlying adaptation to exercise.

This work includes the study of exercise responses, physical performance, and changes in skeletal muscle function across different stages of development, with a particular focus on how exercise capacity and physiological responses change during growth and puberty. This includes the assessment of aerobic capacity, strength, and other aspects of physical performance.

Another area of research within our group focuses on exercise physiology, skeletal muscle function, and metabolic health in individuals with cerebral palsy (CP). This research investigates how CP may affect physical performance, exercise responses, skeletal muscle function, and the molecular mechanisms underlying these alterations.

My work primarily involves the assessment of physical performance, as well as the preparation and analysis of skeletal muscle samples for molecular analyses.
