Niklas Lidströmer
About me
Dr Niklas Lidströmer – Karolinska Institutet, MD, MSc, Specialist Physician, Senior researcher in AI in medicine, Senior Advisor in AI and medical investments, former AI entrepreneur and founder of an AI-powered medical platform.
His experience also encompasses widespread global clinical work spanning twenty years across eight countries. After graduating with dual degrees, a Master of Science degree in 2000 and a Medical Doctor degree in 2002, he began practising medicine, followed by internships, specialized residencies and clinical work all over the world, including one year of circumnavigation as a maritime doctor.
His international work experience, fluency in many languages, practical familiarization with AI and clinical specialist competence in general medicine have produced a passion for translational and educational aspects of artificial intelligence in medicine.
Dr. Niklas Lidströmer edited the pivotal reference work—the new standard reference, "Artificial Intelligence in Medicine", Springer Nature (130 chapters, 1, 858 pages), which has now become the largest and most comprehensive in the scientific community. He has authored several chapters. The foreword was written by Professor Eric Topol, who is ranked as the #1 most influential MD in the United States.
He has been a senior advisor to United Bankers and DXC and to AI companies such as FLO and a chief medical officer for Acorai. He has been involved in several other companies.
He also edited "Artificial Intelligence in COVID-19", Springer Nature, with Professor Yonina C. Eldar, Weizmann Institute of Science and MIT, and with a foreword by Professor James J. Collins, MIT and Harvard, published in autumn 2022.
