About me

  • I completed my PhD in Epidemiology from the School of Population and Public Health, University of British Columbia, Canada in January of 2016. My
doctoral research examined the impact of parental multiple sclerosis on child and adolescent developmental health in British Columbia and Manitoba, Canada, using linked health and other databases.

Research

  • I am the team lead of The Perinatal Epidemiology Lifecourse Lab, within the Reproductive, Perinatal and Pediatric Epidemiology research group. Our lab aims to understand maternal and neonatal morbidity across the lifecourse.

Our current research centers on three key areas:

    • Maternal and Paternal Chronic Illness: Investigating the role of chronic conditions—such as epilepsy—during pregnancy, and the impact of medication use on long-term health outcomes for both parents and offspring.
    • Neonatal Factors and Interventions: Exploring how neonatal health factors and early interventions influence the risk of neurodevelopmental and cardiovascular outcomes in childhood and early adulthood.
    • Severe Maternal and Neonatal Morbidity: Examining the long-term health consequences of severe maternal and neonatal morbidity for both women and their children.
