Nada Hanna
About me
Nada Hanna is a distinguished expert in environmental pharmaceutical, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), health systems and policy, with a robust foundation in pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistry. Her professional journey spans academia, national government, private sector, and the United Nations system.
Nada is a postdoctoral researcher in Health System and Policy at the Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institutet. Her PhD thesis, titled "Integrated Assessment of Environmental and Human Health Risks of Antibiotic Residues and Resistance for Environmental and Health Policy, " has significantly contributed to prioritizing antibiotics for remediation and developing environmental and health policies in the WHO's Western Pacific and South-East Asia regions, especially regarding China and India (ki.se) [1].
In the realm of Environmental Medicine and Global Public Health, Nada has made her mark through her involvement in significant research projects, both nationally and internationally. Her expertise contributed to a pivotal WHO project examining "Antibiotic Residues in the Aquatic Environment of the South-East Asia Region of the WHO: A Risk Factor for Antibiotic Resistance." Furthermore, she contributed to IMPACT, the One Health Sino-Swedish integrated multi-sectoral partnership for combating antibiotic resistance.
