About me

  • I am an associate professor of neurosurgery, senior consultant neurosurgeon
    and senior researcher in neuroscience. My research is focused on military
    medicine and questions related to traumatic injuries in the nervous

  • My research is focused on multiple aspects of the injured nervous system and
    its responses to trauma. The group has developed a broad array of methods to
    investigate responses to high energy traumatic injuries to the nervous
    system, from cell culture to animal models. I am member of multiple NATO
    human factors and medicine research task groups working on different aspects
    of brain injury and performance.


  • At Karolinska Institutet I teach anatomy for undergraduate and graduate
    students, specifically neuroanatomy. At Uppsala University I am a lecturer in
    neurosurgery for medical students. I supervise Ph.D.-students in both basic
    neuroscience and clinical neurosurgery.
