About me

Our aim is to translate basic research findings into novel therapeutic
strategies against brain tumors.
I am an Italian medical doctor currently pursuing doctoral education at
Karolinska Institutet. My main supervisor is Professor Cecilia
Söderberg-Naucler and my co-supervisor are Professor Jiri Bartek, Associate
Professor Afsar Rahbar and Dr Giuseppe Stragliotto.
My main research and clinical interests include neurosurgery, neuro-oncology
and virology.
I enjoy playing beach volleyball and tennis in my free time.

Research

My research focuses on the definition on the role of Cytomegalovirus in human
malignancies and specifically in brain tumors.
I am particularly interesting in the validation of antiviral therapy in
patients with Glioblastoma and in the understanding of the role of this virus
as cancer promoting agent.
