Research

  • My research focuses on two main areas:

    - Early-life prevention of childhood obesity. I am especially interested in interactions between physical activity and development of overweight and obesity during the first years of life.
    - Mobile phone technology (mHealth) to measure diet and physical activity as well as a mode for delivery of interventions to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent obesity, with special emphasis on maternity and child health are. This research track also include digital interventions for self-management of disease for instance for gestational diabetes.

One key ongoing activity is to lead and coordinate the MoBILE (Mobile health Multiple lifestyle Behavior Interventions across the LifEspan) research program funded by a special joint call in health care science by Forte and Vetenskapsrådet (2018-01410
  • 29.8 million 2019-2024
  • PI M Löf). We are conducting seven randomised controlled trials where we are developing and evaluating the effectiveness and implementation of mHealth tools to support a healthier lifestyle. The program covers patients in different health care settings (e.g. maternity and child health care, school health care and primary health care).
