Research

  • My research focuses on forensic medicine, primarily gunshot and blast injuries and the epidemiology and pathophysiology of fatal opioid poisonings. I also study biomarkers related to opioid toxicity and suicide.

The overarching aim is to improve the understanding and assessment of injury and death through evidence-based forensic research, while generating knowledge that can contribute to prevention, clinical care, and the judicial system.

Teaching

  • My teaching focuses primarily on forensic medicine at undergraduate, advanced, and postgraduate levels. I am responsible for forensic medicine teaching within the medical programmes at Karolinska Institutet and Lund University and teach medical students, physicians in specialist training, and professionals within the judicial system. I also have previous teaching experience in physiology and supervise students and doctoral candidates.
