About me

  • I am a bioinformatician with experience across multiple areas of genomics and computational biology.

One of my main interests is using different types of genetic data to address diverse biological questions. During my PhD, I used whole-exome sequencing to study how spruce trees migrated across Sweden and adapted to local climates. I later worked on a two-year project investigating gene-expression changes in choroid plexus cells during development and their response to multiple sclerosis, using multi-omics data (single-cell RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell ATAC-seq). Currently I work with metagenomic data for surveillance and routine diagnostics.

I am also focused on automating bioinformatics workflows to make genetic analyses more accessible and efficient. For example, I develop Nextflow pipelines for metagenomic analysis (nf-core/taxprofiler, gms/metaval), viral typing, and resistance testing (e.g., HIV and enterovirus).
