Leo Ziegel

Medical doctor and PhD student interested in mental health (especially addictions), critical epidemiology and social determination of health. My PhD project is about psychiatric epidemiology and alcohol use in Uganda, using data from a population cohort run by the Ugandan NGO Africa Medical and Behavioural Sciences Organization (AMBSO). Main supervisor is professor Anna Mia Ekström.

Other research projects include:
* Collaborations between traditional/faith healers and psychiatric services to improve care for people with severe mental illness in Uganda
* Part of an international collaboration on adolescent mental health which contributed to UNICEF's The State of the World's Children 2021 report
