About me

Krzysztof Piersiala is a resident in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) at Karolinska University Hospital. He defended his dissertation in 2024, titled "Tumour-draining lymph nodes in head and neck cancer: immunological signatures and clinical implications."
His research focuses on the immunological role of tumor-draining lymph nodes (TDLNs) in head and neck cancer, particularly in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). He investigates immune checkpoint molecules on T and B cells, aiming to identify biomarkers for disease progression and treatment response. His work also explores neoadjuvant anti-PD-1 therapy and its effects on the immune microenvironment, with the goal of improving personalized cancer treatment and follow-up strategies.
