About me

  • I am a PhD student at the Division of Paediatric Neurology, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Karolinska Institutet, where I started my doctoral studies in September 2025.
My professional background as a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) has shaped my research interests and expertise in gait analysis and orthotic management for individuals with cerebral palsy. I have worked clinically as an orthotist since 1999 and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet.

Research

  • My doctoral research, Gait, Orthosis, and Functional Mobility in Children and Young Adults with Cerebral Palsy, focuses on improving mobility through evidence-based orthotic interventions and developing clinically feasible methods for gait analysis and gait classification.
By studying gait development following an intensive training period in young children with cerebral palsy (CP), developing a standardized video-based gait assessment tool for gait classification, and exploring the relationships between prerequisites for walking, gait patterns, and orthosis use in children with spastic CP, the project aims to generate knowledge that supports individualized interventions and improved functional mobility.

Teaching

  • I teach on the Karolinska Institutet course Assessment of Gait Function in Children and Adults with Disabilities.
