Research
- My research focuses on development, evaluation and implementation of complex interventions during the perinatal period.
The context for intervention development is within both health promotion within the maternity care and development of clinical interventions within the delivery care and neonatal care.
Health promotion specifically concerns promotion of mental health and lifestyle behaviour during the perinatal period and the promotion of mental well-being during pregnancy. Pliot studies have shown that several positive psychology interventions (PPI) have been found to be helpful to promote mental well-being, It remains to explore which PPIs can be helpful during pregnancy. The studies done within this field is done together with principal investigator Marie Löf and my main supervisor Kristin Thomas and co-supervisors Christine Delisle Nyström and Gerd Ammlquist Tangen.
Clinical interventions specifically concerns intact cord resuscitation of newborn babies where a technique has been developed to keep the cord intact to provide the increased blood volume to help the baby breath at both vaginal births and ceasarian sections. The studies within delayed cord clamping are lead by principal investigator and neonatologist Ola Andersson at Skånes University hospital in collaboration with a steering group from several university hospitals.
