About me

  • Karin Ekström Smedby is a professor of haematology-oncology, focusing on clinical epidemiology.
    The main research focus is risk, survival and survivorship in malignant lymphomas.

  • I have supervised 9 doctoral students as main supervisor, and 5 as co-supervisor, to thesis defense.
    I was course leader of two week-long courses in epidemiology (Introduction to Epidemiology, and, Next steps in Epidemiology) at the National Research School in Oncology (NatiOn).
    I was study director of the Research School in Epidemiology for Clinicians at Karolinska Institutet and Region Stockholm 2007-2009
