About me

  • Physician at the department of Clinical Physiology, Karolinska University
Hospital and a PhD-student at the Karolinska Institutet.

Research

  • My research is a mechanistic approach to the relaxing phase of the cardiac
cycle. The method is called Parameterized Diastolic Filling and is based on
Doppler-echocardiography of the mitral valve inflow. The result is a a
description of the (left) ventricle in terms of stiffness, damping and load.
The patient population being investigated is mainly from the CABG-PREFERS
    heart failure study.
The aim of my research is to being able to differentiate the highly
heterogenous group of heart failure patients with preserved ejection fracyion
(HFpEF) with regards to their cardiac mechanics. This will hopefully
facilitate more specifically targeted studies on the pathophysiology, and
eventually interventional options, in this group of patients.
