About me

Probing neuronal connectivity, plasticity and identity is crucial to understand the architecture of neuronal circuits. We are looking at neuronal networks on the single-connection level but in large populations. We use all-optical voltage imaging and single-cell transcriptomics in combination with in vivo optogenetics and behavior to understand the neuronal networks processing threatful stimuli and governing the fight-or flight responses in the brainstem, hypothalamus and amygdala. We are particularly interested in the functional sex-differences of the investigated pathways.
