About me

  • I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Karolinska Institutet with a background in immunology, and microbiology. I hold a PhD in Medical Biotechnologies from the University of Siena, Italy, where my research focused on adaptive immune responses to vaccination and infectious diseases.

My research experience spans human clinical and translational studies, with expertise in B-cell and T-cell immunology, immune profiling, and the analysis of vaccine-induced immune responses in both healthy and immunocompromised populations. I am currently applying this expertise to cancer immunotherapy, focusing on T-cell engineering and targeted therapeutic strategies for multiple myeloma.

Research

  • My research focuses on human translational immunology, with a particular interest in understanding adaptive immune responses and translating these insights into novel therapeutic strategies.

My previous research has focused on vaccinology and B-cell immunology in infectious diseases, where I investigated the dynamics, phenotype, and functionality of antigen-specific memory B-cell responses, including in individuals with impaired immune function.

I am currently expanding my research into T-cell immunology and T-cell engineering for targeted cancer immunotherapy, with a focus on multiple myeloma. My work aims to understand and exploit the mechanisms governing antigen recognition and immune-mediated targeting of malignant plasma cells.

More broadly, I am interested in decoding adaptive immune mechanisms to develop next-generation immunotherapies, including both personalized and off-the-shelf therapeutic approaches.
