About me

  • I am a Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology at Karolinska University Hospital and Associate Professor (Docent) at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. I have obtained my medical degree (MD) at the University of Ioannina in Greece in 2015 and PhD in breast cancer immuno-oncology at Karolinska Institutet in 2020. 
    My research focuses on translational cancer research with a focus on breast cancer, immuno-oncology, tumor microenvironment, biomarker discovery and response-adapted treatment strategies, integrating multi-omics profiling within clinical trial and retrospective cohort settings.
    I have authored >50 peer-reviewed publications and have presented my work at national and international conferences.
    I have received competitive funding from the Swedish Cancer Society, Swedish Society of Oncology (postdoctoral research award), Region Stockholm (postdoctoral fellowship for combining clinical and research activities) and from several foundations.
    I serve as Chair of the Young Investigators Steering Committee of the European European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Breast Cancer Group.
    I am also an active member of several Task Forces and Working Groups within several national and international organizations and societies including European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), Breast International Group (BIG), Cancer Core Europe (CCE), Cancer Research KI and EORTC.
    I serve as Associate Editor of Breast Cancer Research journal (BMC, part of Spinger Nature).
     

Research

  • Translational cancer research with a focus on breast cancer, immuno-oncology, tumor microenvironment, biomarker discovery and response-adapted treatment strategies, integrating multi-omics profiling within clinical trial and retrospective cohort settings.

Teaching

  • Principal supervisor for 1 postodoctoral researcher, 2 master degree/undergraduate students. Co-supervisor of 5 PhD students
