About me
I work as a child neurologist at Astrid Lindgren's Children's Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. I did my medical studies in Linköping and then moved to Östersund where I got my medical license and also did my internship in Paediatrics. After nine years in Östersund I continued with an internship in Neuropaediatrics in Stockholm and finnished in 2018.
Research
I am currently a PhD student conducting studies on neonatal seizures and outcome. My research project includes four sub-studies of which one is a validation study of neurological variables including neonatal seizure diagnoses in the Swedish Neonatal Quality Register (SNQ). Another sub-study is a systematic review of electroencephalographically verified neonatal seizures and the outcomes post-neonatal epilepsy (PNE), cerebral palsy (CP), intellectual disability (ID), developmental delay (DD), autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and death. The other two sub-studies are population-based, matched observational studies where I investigate the risk of PNE after electroencephalographically verified neonatal seizures and what types of anti-seizures medications (ASM's) are being used during neonatal hospitalization and what proportions of neonates being discharged with ASM. The fourth sub-study aims to study the the risk of CP, ID, DD, autism, ADHD and death after electroencephalographically verified neonatal seizures.
