I have a Master's degree in Global Health at Karolinska Institutet. Following my education, I worked with assisting in various education and research projects at the Department of Public Health Sciences. In 2014 I started working at the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten) conducting a study aiming to explore the health and health determinants among transgender persons in Sweden, a project which is a part of my PhD focus.
I am now a registered doctoral student at the Department of Public Health Sciences under the supervision of Professor Anna Mia Ekström, and co-supervisors, Professor Anna Thorson and Dr Lars E Eriksson.
Bachelor of Science (BSc), Development and International Cooperation; 2010
Master of Medical Science (MMSc) , Global Health, Karolinska Institutet; 2011
During my doctoral studies, I will be working on a project aiming to study the quality of life in two particularly vulnerable groups, people living with HIV (PLHIV) and transgender people. Both groups are vulnerable to prejudice, stigma and discrimination and negative self-image. Other commonalities for both groups are related to complexity in initiating intimate and sexual relationships.
