The goal of my research is to alleviate the negative impact of congenital hearing impairment, to improve hearing through cochlear implants, and increase our understanding of how impaired hearing affects humans, specifically during periods of development.

Research

  • I conduct research on auditory and neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with hearing impairment, with a primary focus on bilateral cochlear implantation. My work examines how early auditory input and implantation strategies influence the development of binaural processing, spatial hearing, and speech perception across childhood and adolescence. Through clinical and longitudinal studies, my aim is to advance the understanding of experience-dependent auditory neurodevelopment and to generate evidence that informs the timing and delivery of pediatric cochlear implantation.
