Emma Persad
About me
Emma Persad (MD, PhD[c]) is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Karolinska Institutet and Clinical Research Coordinator at the Department of Neonatology at Karolinska University Hospital, giving her experience within the implementation of evidence-based healthcare into clinical practice. She is an elected member of the Cochrane Governing Board and internal coordinator of the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health priority area for Cochrane’s upcoming scientific strategy. She has worked for Cochrane Austria since 2017 and has since been engaged as a lead and co-author on many Cochrane and externally-commissioned systematic reviews, leading her to be named one of Cochrane’s Top 30 under 30. She strongly supports international collaboration within the research community and believes it should be harnessed for the development of global health strategies going forward.
