I am working as a research coordinator, responsible for the deep sequencing laboratory of Prof. Joakim Dillner's group. I coordinate the research projects related to metagenomic sequencing. During my PhD I developed microarray based SNP genotyping and HPV typing technologies at KTH where I defended my thesis "Genetic sequence analysis by microarray technology" in 2007.

My research is focused on cancer metagenomics and viral epidemiology, with focus on human papillomavirus (HPV). My research aim is to identify any viral etiology in different forms of cancer, but also other diseases such as diabetes and MS, that could eventually lead to better screening, treatment and prevention. By deep sequencing of human specimens, the presence of any viral DNA and RNA in the sample can be detected and an infectious etiology can be investigated.
