Eleftherios Tzanis

Eleftherios Tzanis is a licensed medical physicist and postdoctoral researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Translational Imaging (ATI) Lab, School of Medicine, University of Crete. He is an affiliated researcher with Karolinska Institutet (CLINTEC). He leads the Focus Group “Good Practices for AI Development” within the Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group of EFOMP and serves as Junior Editor for the European Journal of Radiology Artificial Intelligence.

▪ Development of autonomous agentic pipelines utilizing Large Language Models for the automatic development, evaluation and implementation of machine learning models in routine clinical practice.  

▪ Development of machine learning-based pipelines for patient-specific radiation dosimetry, organ/tissue segmentation and medical image processing.

▪ Patient-specific Monte Carlo dosimetry / Evaluation of radiological risk in medical imaging examinations.

▪ Development of computational tools for the automatic second cancer risk assessment from exposure to therapeutic doses and radiobiological evaluation of radiotherapy treatment plans.
