About me

  • I graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with a
Master in Bioengineering. During my PhD studies I have focused on the
evolution of Newcastle disease virus strains of different bird host species
at the Veterinary Medical Research Institute (Budapest, Hungary) and Eötvös
Loránd University, Doctoral School of Biology (Budapest, Hungary). I
conducted postdoctoral research, and later worked as an assistant professor
at Karolinska Institutet with Prof. Angelica Lindèn Hirschberg. During these
times I studied the effect of the hormonal milieu of polycystic ovary
syndrome on the differentiation of endometrial stromal cell in relation to
the increased risk of subfertility and pregnancy complications in these
women. I also collaborated with Prof. Eva Klein and Prof. Leif Stenke at
Karolinska Institutet, focusing on Burkitt`s lymphoma and chronic myeloid
leukemia. Since September 2021 I work as a research specialist at the
National Pandemic Centre at Karolinska Institutet, aiming at responding to
the challenges of the current SARS-CoV-2 and possible future pandemics.
2001-2005: Ph.D. student, Veterinary Medical Research Institute, Budapest,
Hungary, Eötvös Loránd University, Doctoral School of Biology
Thesis title: Phylogenetic analysis and evolution of paramyxovirus-1 strains
    isolated from pigeons
2000:* *M. Sc. in Bioengineering, Budapest University of Technology and
    Economics
