Daniele Cardinale

Daniele Cardinale (PhD) works at the intersection of academic research and elite sport, integrating mechanistic and applied physiology with translational health research. He has two decades of experience advising national teams and developing advanced testing and training methods to optimize elite performance at major events. He is Performance Developer at the Swedish Sports Confederation and formerly Head of Sport Physiology at the Swedish Performance Laboratory. Daniele is an affiliated researcher at Karolinska Institutet and has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers. His research covers skeletal muscle mitochondrial function, oxygen transport, and physiological responses to environmental stressors such as hypoxia and heat. Beyond sport performance, Daniele supports innovation and entrepreneurship, helping researchers and students translate health and sport research into practical and commercial applications.
